More than two thousand people took part in the International Congress on Plastic, Reconstructive Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine in Kazan. The main organizers of the event are the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Russian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (RSPRAS). Experts from 22 countries — Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, France, Lebanon, Egypt and neighboring countries - met at the congress.
Damir Znatdinov, microbiologist, biogerontologist, Deputy Scientific Director of MARTINEX, member of ASM, ASBMB (USA), presented the Martinex International Research Center for Innovative Technologies. His report was devoted to the role of the concentration and molecular weight of hyaluronic acid (HA) in the regulation of neocollagenogenesis and maintenance of the extracellular matrix.
"In my presentation, I talked about the mechanisms of action of hyaluronic acid depending on its molecular weight. He noted that the physiological concentration of HA in the skin decreases with age and under the influence of UV radiation, and its excess can provoke stress reactions in the dermis. New approaches are currently being proposed to increase efficiency, including modification of HA (for example, conjugation with bioactive molecules) and the development of bioreparants that provide prolonged action and restoration of the intercellular matrix," said Damir Znatdinov.
The scientific program of the congress in Kazan brought together plastic surgeons, cosmetologists, dermatovenerologists and doctors of related specialties. Traditionally, such events allow us to share experiences and talk about innovations.
